For Today. For the Future.
Manufacturing cosmetic products of consistently high quality to be available at all times is a challenge. In this context, ADA Cosmetics International is committed to a stewardship of human and natural resources. This approach leads us to develop products that are safe to use and increase one’s wellbeing. At the same time, we operate in an ecologically sustainable manner – at every point of the value chain. To us, this means following long-term values.
Our intent: To pass on an intact and healthy environment to future generations. To achieve this goal, we are committed to working hand in hand with all out partners.
Our Environmental Guidelines.
ADA is committed to complying with environmental, economical and social standards even when they are not required by law. We contribute to the protection of man and the environment with, for instance, a frugal use of natural resources, lower emissions through higher energy efficiency as well as consistently less waste production.
RAW MATERIALS
Starting with the purchasing of raw materials, ADA follows ecological standards. Accordingly, we use mainly renewable plant raw materials. This includes lipid regulators such as the tenside coco glucoside, extracted from coconut and palm kernel oil as well as corn, potato and wheat starches. This is one significant way for us to save resources. Renewable raw materials, in particular, require farsighted planning and meticulous quality control. Therefore, all the ingredients we purchase undergo stringent tests by the manufacturers themselves. To be on the safe side, every item is still re-checked through our additional in-house microbiological tests.
In the development of our formulations we pay close attention to safe product tolerance as well as high effectiveness. A growing number of our product solutions comply with strict ecological criteria – from formulation to packaging – and have been granted the eco-label of the European Union (EU).
Our belief: What is natural should stay natural.
SAFETY
Every one of our hotel clients wants to provide only the best to his guests. That is why we ensure our products are safe and healthy. Each and every product is subject to extensive testing and analysis, not only in the development phase but also during production. Even after market launch we continue our monitoring efforts. We do not engage in animal testing in any of these phases. It goes without saying that all our products comply with country-specific cosmetics regulations. We guarantee consistently safe production processes with our state-of-the-art technologies. As a result, for us ‘Made in Germany’ is not merely a quality seal, but the promise of an exceptionally high standard. Our quality management system currently is in the preparation phase for certification according to ISO DIN 9001.
We will go to any lengths for your protection.
ENERGY
Luckily, the manufacture of cosmetic products does not demand a high input of raw materials to begin with. The consumption of energy and its resulting CO₂ emissions within the production process can, however, be of significance. For this reason, we use technologically highly advanced facilities that are comparatively low in their consumption of energy and emissions rates. For instance, we employ a so-called ‘cold process’ to produce body lotion, which saves 40% of energy. Another example is the process heat required for our production. By converting to natural gas we were able to drastically reduce our carbon footprint.
And then there are the small things that make a big difference: we produce our goods close to our clients. In order to save resources and contribute to climate protection we, too, purchase the necessary raw materials largely from suppliers in the region.
Sometimes know-how is everything.
WATER
Our world’s water resources are not only distributed unevenly, they are also threatened by pollution and overexploitation. For this reason, ADA restricts its consumption of water wherever possible, particularly during production processes. By employing modern technologies, our water consumption has been reduced to a necessary minimum. Furthermore, our company adheres to the strict guidelines of the German Water Resources Act (“Wasserhaushaltsgesetz”). This law contains requirements for the protection and use of ground water. Ground water is a significant component of the water cycle and indispensable for nature’s various eco-systems. Although our cosmetics products do end up in waste water after being used, they are designed to impair the water quality as little as possible. Our tenside– containing body care products are 90% biodegradable and thus pose no threat to our ground water resources.
It’s quite clear: Water is Life.
WASTE
The demands of an ever-growing world population are depleting our available resources. For this reason, we minimize the input of raw materials and creation of waste from the start by employing appropriate resource-efficient production technologies.
The environmental compatibility of our products is another facet of our commitment. There are two dimensions to this: ingredient biodegradability and packaging recyclability. First: all our products that end up in waste water after being used have been optimized with respect to their biological degradability. Second: our product packaging consists mainly of PET, a material that is 100% recyclable. We also are working increasingly with PCR (Post Consumer Resin), a synthetic material that has already been recycled and can be fully re-used.
Although we are already highly eco-conscious, we are always seeking further opportunities to limit our waste products even more or, at least, find ways to re-use them in a sensible manner.
Sometimes less is more.
MAN and SOCIETY
First and foremost: it is our employees who make our company successful. ADA offers its 300 employees secure employment with fair conditions as well as voluntary corporate benefits. These include, among others, measures such as combining work and family as well as continuing education and qualification. The working atmosphere also plays a vital role. Due to our international operations, we work with people from different countries, faiths, ethnicities and cultures. To us, this diversity symbolizes a great opportunity. So we promote a corporate culture that not only tolerates and respects individual and cultural differences but also considers them as an unique asset. The basis for our work is trust, fair cooperation, an open communications culture and equal opportunity. Further, we promote employees’ activities outside the company and support public social concerns and projects, for instance.
Our focus here is on education and family.
